Yes but don't you see they know new party's are popping up now. They are beginning to be afraid of us. We are starting to get stronger and more independence than before. We will show them we aren't stupid real soon in the next election. If not then we will be lost forever I am afraid. I don't see that we can be so stupid to keep this up again.

In Ecclesiastes, Solomon tell us, "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.". That includes politics.
So, every time a Rep is in office, the Dems go ballistic and claim they have no power. Same goes for the Reps when a Dem is in. As long as we have dividing parties, we will be a divided people. It's been like that for a very long time. And on and on it goes.

Maybe this is ( out of place ) & { not @ the right time } but what if ... ? Evan Bayh was to " RUN " for President 'i' know there's a place on here to get a vote, but 'i'd like to hear some discussion if anyone is interested in doing so: My opinion: Evan Bayh is from southwestern Indiana. He basically dissociated himself from his hometown when he got elected to higher office. Mitch Daniels did NOT come from southwestern Indiana. He has visited there, and has appointed more people from there, than any other governor in this century. Evan Bayh has done nothing but trash talked his colleges since announcing his retirement. Interesting, since he has the minimum years in congress to get a six figure pension with free medical. And millions in his war chest, some of which he funneled to his hand picked replacement (Ellsworth) for the job he supposedly hated. I do not find him very trustworthy.

Sweeper, given the choices it looks like "WE" might have in 2012, 'U' should run as a write-in ... 'i'd vote for 'U'! ...Who are you looking @ as a possibility? Presently, I'm one of the undecided ones. I might write myself in.

HOW CONGRESS OPERATES:Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop? 35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government - Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention. This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on. This is an idea that we should address. For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term [ HOW MUCH? would it decrease the national debt if this was not so?], that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. ((The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms.)) Somehow, that doesn't seem logical { logical - "correct reasoning". We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving * BUTtHOLES * must stop. If each person that reads this will pass it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around. Cyberman let's just keep it simple; Does this Amendment sound ( as it's written ) like it's fair, equal rights, benefits, & just common sense logic for this country? Do you think congressmen & women should have full retirement for one term of service { our tax money} for life!!! Do you think it's right they pass bills "WE" must adhere to, but they don't have too? Is this not a country established on the following principles: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, and promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. That wasn't written for political elected employees, it says "We the People" and while "WE" still have a country left we'd better make sure that's who it's for! This is one simple addition ( in the form of an amendment - that if 'our' founding fathers had ever guested it would have come to this) they'd made it part of the Constitution!! 'i'm not saying we're going one-up on'm, cause they never intended for anything like this to go as far as it has - DID 'U'?

Hoosier, I'm all for keeping it simple. However, some of the information contained in the email is outdated. For example: 1. Since 1984 all members of Congress have been required to pay into the Social Security Fund. 2. It is not true that Congressmen continue to draw their same pay, until they die. The size of their pensions is determined by a number of factors such as length of service, when they joined Congress, their age at retirement, their salary, the pension options they chose when enrolling in the retirement system, and by law...cannot exceed 80% of their salary at the time of their enrollment. Now for my position on "career politicians." TERM LIMITS FOR ALL ELECTED POSITIONS!!!!! I mean that on the local, state and federal levels. I see elected officials as "public servants" not "public employees". In other words....Pay 'em while they are in office. Once they are out of office, they need to find a job like the rest of us. I'm against all entitlements, even those that the politicians think they have earned. The Federal Government owes us nothing more than protection from all enemies both foreign and domestic, primarily by securing our borders and enforcing our immigration laws. Cyberman 'i' just knew 'U'd get nit picky on me; 'i' felt it coming. The 28th Amendment:
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States." ...now that's what 'i' mean by "KEEP IT SIMPLE" or as 'we' say in sales KISS ( Keep it simple stupid!) The amendment is simple, fair, self explanatory, & it'll stop all the crap congress pulls on "US"!
"WE" are in 100% agreement on the following!
