A political platform is a series of positions on political issues which is used to promote a particular political party or candidate. It often comes in the form of a manifesto, a carefully worded political document which appeals to voters by touching on a number of issues which are important to them. Analysis of political platforms is a topic of interest for many people, especially in presidential election years, when political parties struggle for control of a nation, and their platforms are vital tools. Since ?( nobody is running for president on this forum )? *MAYBE!* LEt's just call it discussions! OK?
Political discussion has long been considered a basic component of democratic systems. In the last decade, there has been a great deal of empirical study on the question. This has been carried out either by means of quantitative surveys which attempt to evaluate and explain the frequency of discussion and the structures of communication networks on the processes and resources at stake in political discussions; that's what we're going to do! ... discuss "OUR" system & then deal with it!

I'm running for Cyber-President of the United States of America. ;D Here's my platform.
1. Cut frivolous governmental spending. 2. Seek to implement a fair federal sales tax, repeal the 16th Amendment and eliminate the IRS. 3. Repeal that rushed thru legislation they called ObamaCare. Government screws up everything it gets involved in. Do you really want politicians having a hand in your healthcare?
More to follow, stay tuned.

Sweeper your post sent me off the deep end. I wanted to find out what a Cyber-President was... so I Googled. I couldn't believe all the weird stuff I found. This was very interesting; www.america.gov/st/texttrans-english/2009/May/20090529161700eaifas0.1335871.htmlbut when I googled : Cyber-President of the United States of America what I got into made little sense to me. To be honest, it scared the $hit out of 'me'

sweeper IMHO All the last few elections have been bought. Heard on the grapevine Obama will take in better than a billion dollars for the '12' campaign I just figured I would "hack" my term in da house. Sweeper puts 'foot' through the door! Specially with all these fancy computerized polling places. In the November election 'i' finished my voting & cleared myself but didn't move from the machine, this lady setting behing the machine came up and give me a " I voted" stickie 'i' said how'd 'U' know 'i' was done? It tongue tied her for a minute - 'i'd been watching those little lights. I should win by a landslide. All 'i' gota say is be sure your above it!

This is where I get confused.... Nobama says... "Let me also be clear about what we will not do. Our pursuit of cybersecurity will not -- I repeat, will not include -- monitoring private sector networks or Internet traffic. We will preserve and protect the personal privacy and civil liberties that we cherish as Americans. Indeed, I remain firmly committed to net neutrality so we can keep the Internet as it should be -- open and free." and yet I read in the media... FCC Approves Plan to Regulate InternetWASHINGTON -- The Federal Communications Commission on Tuesday approved a plan to regulate the Internet despite warnings that it could strangle industry investment and damage an economy that is still struggling to recover. Read more: www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/21/fcc-poised-pass-network-neutrality-rules/#ixzz19jX4R7ieYou would think they would get their stories straight.

The first time that something happens and is met with publicity and criticism, it could well be an accident or part of the learning curve — like the first time one bows down to foreign royalty when other U.S. presidents haven’t; or the first time one issues a public apology abroad for past (real or imagined) American sins in a way that other presidents haven’t. But the second time, the assumption must be that it’s probably deliberate — and that makes it all the more appalling. Other presidents didn’t deliberately misquote the Declaration, and they didn’t leave out (or rewrite) the words about our rights being endowed by our Creator.

Our fellow men gave up their lives for this country and our constitution.. I thought you fought for it at one time. Am I right now. Maybe Viet Nam? I was proud of what our soldiers did some even didn't make it home from there..
I really can't believe that you are thinking this way. Running for some wacky bunch of rebels is what it is. Even though they do have some good ideas.. Now I did say some not all of them.. Hey did somebody brain wash you or something.. I am almost ashamed to say I know you Sweep!! For God Sake I should be say a pray for you now.

Lu Lu quote: Running for some wacky bunch of rebels is what it is. unquote This statement requires further discussion; Lu Lu 'U' seemed to have hit the nail square on the head. This last 8 years ( yes, and even before ) seems to be exactly what 'U' stated. A bunch of wacky rebels [ def. ] politicians with only theirselves being considered of any importance. ...A greedy bunch of selfserving leachs sucking the blood out of this nation putting "US" on life support with the middleclass having to carry the burden. ...Now that 'i've described the situation, it is going to be up to "US" *the middleclass* to correct it. "WE" can no longer be the silent majority ~~cause we're not a majority anymore~~ [ government & big business is! ], so "WE" must, one-step-at-a-time, begin changing the playing conditions. This will be much easier said than done, but if "WE" could organize into a faction of positive thinking common sense citizens without arguing amongst ourselves "WE" can get it done. IF "WE" DON'T we're{United States of America} DONE!!

So no, I wasn't in Viet Nam. I think people called George Washington, as well as many of our founding fathers crazy and traitors back in the day. People ashamed of me? LOL People should be more ashamed of themselves for electing the idiots that got us in this kinda shape. Who's to blame? We all are. Who's gonna fix it? We are. People should be more ashamed of the Builderberg Group and the members of that elite few ruling the many. Which leads me to my next campaign promise. I am in no way associated with the Bilderberg Group. The members of that group can all KMA. Slowly, but surely the eyes of the people will begin to open and they will see the truth for what it is. Unfortunately.....it will probably be to late.

Volumes could be dis'cursed' on the following but 'i' say nothing! White House Warns Failure to Raise Debt Ceiling Would Mean Economic 'Crisis' Published January 02, 2011 | FoxNews.com The top White House economic adviser warned lawmakers Sunday that the United States faces a catastrophe if Congress does not raise the debt ceiling, as spend-averse Republicans indicated they'd be willing to support the increase so long as certain conditions are met.
The debt ceiling debate is one of the first major legislative clashes on tap as lawmakers return to Washington this coming week for the start of the 112th Congress. The $13.9 trillion national debt is creeping closer to its $14.3 trillion ceiling, and a vote to increase that limit is expected in the spring.
Though lawmakers will no doubt use the vote to extract promises over future spending cuts, White House Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Austan Goolsbee urged Congress not to "toy with" the issue.
"This is not a game," Goolsbee said on ABC's "This Week." "If we hit the debt ceiling, that's essentially defaulting on our obligations, which is totally unprecedented in American history.
"The impact on the economy would be catastrophic. I mean, that would be a worse financial economic crisis than anything we saw in 2008," Goolsbee said. "I don't see why anybody's talking about playing chicken with the debt ceiling."

Tuesday, June 2, 2009 Pinocchio, Snow White, Superman - and Politics
Pinocchio, Snow White, and Superman are out for a stroll in town one day...
As they walk, they come across a sign: "Beauty contest for the most beautiful woman in the world."
"I am entering!" said Snow White.
After half an hour she comes out and they ask her, "Well, how'd you do?"
" First Place !," said Snow White.
They continue walking and they see a sign: "Contest for the strongest man in the world."
"I'm entering," says Superman.
After half an hour, he returns and they ask him, "How did you make out?"
"First Place," answers Superman. "Did you ever doubt?"
They continue walking when they see a sign: "Contest! Who is the greatest liar in the world?"
"I'm entering," says Pinocchio.
After half an hour he returns with tears in his eyes.
"What happened?" they asked.
"Who the hell is Nancy Pelosi?" asked Pinocchio. and a guy named Obama came in 2nd Hell! all of congress beat me!
