NOTE: There is a discussion under Don Manley , engineer for BF&S about the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) which is required to be submitted to the state of Indiana on a yearly basis. This is still in draft form and if accepted will be voted on at the December BOAC meeting. In this discussion they reduced the estimated dollars per acre given on the land that will be required for this expansion that they had formerly estimated and stated that it would be subject to change. They also said this CIP draft projects acquiring all the needed land in one year. This ordinance is on the city website. While voluntary annexation is stressed...any property contiguous to property in the city can be subject to annexation under the current law whether voluntary or involuntary. The State is currently working to change that law. NOTE: on the old Johnson Wholesale building the city has currently invested close to $100,000.00 in this property. There are underground tanks that still need to be removed and could be a potential threat to surrounding property and the water table. It will cost an additional $48,000.00 to correct this situation so this property can be sold and placed back on the tax roles. Interesting discussion and encourage all to listen to this . There is an executive meeting of the Board of Works at 5 pm 1-19-15 to receive information about, and interview , prospective employees. No decision will be acted upon at this meeting. This is the VIDEO and the AGENDA of the Greensburg IN City Board of Aviation Commissioners mtg. of 1-26-15. NOTE: At the end of the meeting under payment of bills note that Pres. Jon Dooley presents a $400.00 bill to Mary Bennett for her not to grow crops at the end of the runway. There is a meaningful and founded objection by Orris Reese as to whether this is proper as he questioned that it was not on the agenda. Another member did not think it was actually a payment of a bill but didn't know quite what to call it. In observing what was said it appeared to be a contract to be approved for a payment from the description given and Mr. Reese had a valid objection. The President commented on Mr. Reese's objection but then called for a vote and in lieu of the objection it was unanimously voted on in the affirmative. NOTE: This board has an interesting procedure for elections. They handle several items of business.....hold their election.....and with a change in leadership of this board...the new president does not take over the agenda until the next meeting. Most of the other boards hold their elections as the first item of business of the new year on their agenda and then the new leadership takes over the agenda for the rest of the meeting since they are the new President. NOTE: New President for 2015 is Bill Ernstes and New Vice is Jon Dooley. This is the VIDEO and the AGENDA of the City of Greensburg IN City Council Special meeting to hear funding requests from the local Not for Profit organizations. NOTE: Nathan Harter was the main speaker for the Bread of Life and I would encourage eveyone to listen to the ending thought he left with them. Nathan emphasized that while the elected officials of the city are charged with addressing the funding of infrastructure and we think of that as our City departments that it is also important to consider as part of the infrastructure the people of the city as well and their needs. IMO this was an important point that needs to be considered as a hand up , an investment in our community, aiding someone and teaching them how to fish so they can become an important part of our infrastructure for this community.
