Three Things That Aren’t True About The First GOP Presidential Debate Going into the August 6 Fox News Republican presidential debate the media is already pushing three lines that are demonstrably false: Everyone on the stage is a “conservative,” The candidates must abide by “the 11th Commandment” (and the media and Republican establishment will be the self-appointed enforcers of it), The debate is all about Donald Trump, who is bound to make a “gaffe.” Let’s dispense with the first untruth – not everyone on the stage is a “conservative.” The reality is that many of the candidates on the stage, like Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, are what political commentator Stu Rothenberg once called “pragmatic conservatives.” A “pragmatic conservative” is a typical establishment Republican who talks a good game, but when it comes to actually delivering on the conservative agenda, particularly in the areas of the growth of government and spending, their so-called "pragmatism" always results in more spending and more government. Despite the claims of most of the candidates who will be on the stage Thursday, there are only two or three candidates with legitimate roots in the conservative and liberty movements; Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Rand Paul and arguably Governor Scott Walker. www.conservativehq.com/node/20805

I am really disappointed in FOX on the debate. the debate crew had more time than the debate candidates. Ted Cruz (my pick for our Presidential candidate) went for 40 minutes without a question or a chance to say anything. Their were rumors throughout the day of the debate that certain candidates were commanded by the "establishment" to take out Trump.
Not smart. Trump will rise or fall on his own merits.....I personally do not like the man but really, really take offense at the way the FOX moderators tried to "slant" things. Fair and Balanced? I think not.

I've yet to decide on a particular candidate... I like Rand, Carson, Cruz and I love Trump's political INcorrectness. I've completely Bushed out. I think Carly Fiorina has much to offer also, but I doubt she gets the nomination. She would make an excellent choice for VP running mate.

Sweeper, i have been following Cruz's record for some time and witnessing him fighting not only the dems but the "establishment" in his own party. He is leading according to what he told his constituents he would do. I am one who is also upset with the FOX debate and it is not because of Donald Trump....it is because they went 40 minutes without giving Cruz the chance to speak. one time he was chomping at the bit to get in on a serious debate issue and he asked Brett Baiar to give him a chance to reply and they cut him off and went to a commercial. they are scared to death to let him speak. If you listen to nothing else I post on Cruz...listen to this one....he explains his stance and who he is and who he is representing very clearly in this video when he spoke at RedState Senator Ted Cruz at RedState Gathering 2015 youtu.be/-788IyQ4uYM

I' don't know if you're a Facebooker Jean, but if you are you can find me here www.facebook.com/sweep.clearI frequent FB much more regularly than I do ASO. If you and Hoosier do use FB y'all give me a shout. If not...I'll keep drifting by ASO from time to time.
