I received an email from a friend of mine that works hand in hand with the " why" of why I have been advocating for an additional water source for Greensburg/ Decatur County. Check out the map on the below link that they provided . Click on the state and it will enlarge and you will see that Decatur County is colored in red which is in the "extreme" condition according to: Source: Food & Water Watch analysis of U.S. Department of Agriculture Census of Agriculture data. According to that same data....the water source I was advocating to bring in was from Eastern Bartholomew county....Click on their rating on this same map and you will see that there rating is "moderate". What you do with this information is up to you but consider this impact for future generations and for any additional economic development especially concerning people wanting to live in Greensburg / Decatur County or start a business here.. I understand and respect that farming is a large economic indicator for our community, but the farming business is subject as are all things in life to a balance for the well being of all concerned. Realize before you decide that this is not talking about the "average" farmer.....this is talking about "factory" farms. Do you see a balance when you look at this map? Will anyone who is aware of this want to come and live in our community? Will any of the money being spent in the name of economic development by building the veterans parkway or this airport expansion be fruitful to bring people to live and develop here with this situation? Will Greensburg / Decatur County ever have the "roof tops" required to bring in some of the businesses that people who live here want....or is all the economic funding being spent in vain? What are the effects on the health and well being of our community?
Here are the two links that were sent in the email I received....Please take the time to look at them and make up your own mind.

Why should you care?
You can end up with meat loaded with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Many communities have to deal with tainted water and severe air pollution caused by nearby farms.
