The director of the Phoenix VA hospital where 40 veterans died while waiting for care received an $8,500 bonus last month, according to Jeff Miller, chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
Sharon Helman, the director of the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care System, ”got an $8,500 bonus last month while there was an open [inspector general] investigation into Phoenix,”
It had been previously reported that Helman received more than $9,000 in bonus pay in 2013 on top of her annual salary of $169,900. The VA office of inspector general began investigating the Phoenix VA for wrongdoing in December 2013, months before Helman received the additional $8,500 bonus.
I don't want to tell government how to run their business but someone should.
My 1st recommendation is to hire a new CEO.
2nd - fire & imprison lax or corrupt employees.
Begin replacement from the "Top of the list" down until you get to someone doing their job. Thus you get your list of replacements.

Senate Dems Block Bill That Would Hold VA Accountable
For some bizarre and absolutely crazy reason it is almost impossible for VA management to fire anyone within the government body. The level of offense or incompetence doesn’t matter. The VA (and other government bodies) have protection that is simply stunning.
Republicans (and many Democrats) in the House took a common sense step in passing a bill that would enables the VA to hold people accountable by actually firing them when necessary. The bill passed in the House and went to the Senate.
Which is where, thanks to Senate Democrats, the bill is now being blocked.
This actually happened on the Senate floor this afternoon. Senator Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) asked for consent to take up and pass the Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act, a bill that would make it easier/possible for the scandal-plagued department to fire employees based on poor performance. The House overwhelmingly passed the legislation on Wednesday, with a bipartisan vote of 390 to 33. (Only Democrats objected.)
Surely the Senate would follow suit, right? Not exactly. Senator Bernie Sanders, a union-backed socialist from Vermont, objected on behalf of Senate Democrats to Rubio’s request. Instead of taking any action now, Sanders said he is going to hold a hearing—several weeks from now.
Senator Bernie Sanders seriously just blocked a bill that would enable the VA to hold someone accountable. Words cannot come close to describe how incredibly stupid that sounds/is.
American government is becoming a flat out joke.

But today is a WONDERFUL day!! Shensheki resigned!! He was in the "Cat Bird Seat" and anyone in a command position knows what that entails. Shit hits the fan on something that you know nothing about, YOU are still responsible.
And to top it off, that lying little SOB Jay Carney announced his resignation too!! Says he wants to do something else for awhile. I suppose that in big business there IS a high demand for pathological liars, but they usually are not so well know for that trait.
Now we need to fire the Secretary of the Army Petraus and all those other scum bags that are allowing gas and atheist to flourish in our military while TOTALL ignoring the real needs of those people serving with honor. SCREW THE 12%!! Let them suck it up. They should enjoy that!

dent, all things considered, how would you like the job of trying to defend what Obama does or doesn't do?
There's many in the VA administration that should be fired, why stop with Shinseki? If there were a private
nonpartisan committee to make these determinations maybe government could become a viable productive force again?
