Under current United States law, set forth in the USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism are those which: "(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended— (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States."

The controversial and failed Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 defines homegrown terrorism as the “use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.
To simplify the terminology of this act to the following statement:
Threatened use of force or violence to intimidate the United States government ( "or" ) the civilian population of the United States. Since when was that considered two different things? If people begin to protest our current government

( "or" ) has it been the -talk- of the Democrat party lines? Are they 'in-fact' using this terminology for further actions they have already intentionally decided on by passing the PATRIOT Act and Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007? Are the =femma= camps ( www.google.com/#q=fema+camps ) going to be use as Guantanamo concentration camps?

Senator Harry Reid has escalated the war of words over the Cliven Bundy dispute, sensationally labeling the Nevada cattle rancher’s supporters “domestic terrorists” during an event in Las Vegas today.

No matter where you stand on the Bundy issue, Reid’s characterization of [[[ American protesters as “domestic terrorists” ]]] is chilling and a massive backlash is almost certain to follow.

It also fits the narrative that the federal government has been pushing for years through literature such as the MIAC report, which framed Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag, as potential terrorists. In 2012, a Homeland Security study was leaked which characterized Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

18 U.S.C. § 2332b defines the term "federal crime of terrorism"
"Domestic terrorism" means activities with the following three characteristics:

Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping; and
Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.

18 U.S.C. § 2332b defines the term "federal crime of terrorism" as an offense that:

Is calculated to influence or affect the conduct of government by intimidation or coercion, or to retaliate against government conduct (( even if they shoot 1st???))(relating to killing or attempted killing of officers and employees of the U.S.).

....retaliate against government conduct-- does that include the republicans subpoenaing and filing formal charges
against democrats with unlawful conduct,perjury, and deception?

I see it as nothing more than "common sense" that an elected official and "certified reporter" be required to take an oath to "tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" in the course of their official duties, and that failure to do so will result in criminal penalties.

You, of course, feel that the "freedom to lie" for elected officials and reporters (news media) is necessary for a free society?

A rancher's armed battle against the US government is standard libertarian fare

Cliven Bundy’s armed standoff with the National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is the latest flare-up in a long, ongoing, often-paranoid revolt against federal ownership public lands, even the idea of a public interest at all.

He's part of a small group of extreme libertarians, corporate profiteers, armed militia members and livestock ranchers who have tried before to seize control of public lands, who nurture an intense hatred of the federal government, and who have a long history of violent eruptions going back to the failed “sagebrush rebellions” of the 20th century and before.

I personally see a strong resemblance between him and the Federal Gov. Both have by-far overstepped their bounds in consideration for the rights of others. They're like 2 spoiled kids each benefiting from a country that has too much
to take advantage of which neither had much to do with. Greedy, self righteous, bigots (chauvinist, partisan), that have far too long had their way. Maybe it's good they've locked horns, there may be a lesson for both.
