I was sitting in the Lowndes County Courtroom this morning listening to lawyers arguing their clients cases when suddenly from right behind me I hear the phrase "Horse shit".
When I turn around to see who was cocky enough to actually use profanity openly in a State Court I was shocked to see standing before me multiple GSP Troopers. One of which leaned forward and stated his badge number.
A few moments later, when court had been dismissed, I introduced myself and made it known that I was also a member of the media. He asked me what my problem was to which I stated I had no problem. I just found it very unprofessional for a uniformed trooper representing the state of Georgia in a court of law felt it was OK to use profanity in a courtroom.
He apologized to me. I told him I didn't ask for an apology and if he felt an apology was warranted then he should approach the bench and apologize to the the Judge for being disrespectful.
I do wish the Judge would have heard his "horse shit" comment and held him in contempt.
Now that would have been a "story" worth printing. LOL

Here Here!!
The law thinks they are above the law at times. Just because he has a badge on doesn't give him the right to spit out things he wouldn't put in his mouth.. They do need to be put in their place just as you or I do!!
But Sweeper don't you think he owed you and all the other people in that court room and apology. I do!!
I think that story would have been liked just the way it happened. It might just keep people thinking before the let something like that slip out of their mouth.

Lulu, Many cops do think that they are above the law simply because they are the law. I wonder how he would respond (and I asked him this before leaving the court room) if he pulled me over and told me I was speeding and I replied "Horse Shit" Cops want respect. Cops should act respectful. Respect births respect. Cops that act disrespectful should not expect to be respected. I suspect this young GSP Trooper was a rookie. While I was speaking with him after court I was surprised that none of his fellow Troopers (standing beside him) spoke up on his behalf. they simply stood there quietly. When I walked out the door into the hallway I did over hear one of them tell him "You need to be careful, you DID say "horse shit" during the lawyers argument and you're lucky the judge didn't hear you." Oh and by the way.... I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Best wishes to all for 2013.

Well horse poop would have sounded better if you ask me.. I am glad you overheard that officer talking to him. It does make me feel better about them..
It's not just in Georgia that the officers are like that. Our x sherrif was just like that.. The people seem to love him, ( for why I don't know. ) At least I will remember him the way he was. And some of his fellow deputy will also..
