moderateamerican, This quote from your latest: "I'd like to explain to everyone that I am in no way intending to mount an attack, personal or otherwise on anyone with my posts." Everything you have posted seems to me to be an attack on organized religion & ridicule people who disagree with you You constantly repeat your same theme. Is it your agenda to flood this forum with negative comments? You seem to be an attack machine. I for one do NOT welcome you or your closed one-track mind here. Hehe, Now who's closed minded. Really?!?! I simply intend to provide my point of view. And that is that religion is ultimately a negative force in the world. It causes more problems than it could possibly solve. There is no malice in that statement. There is no ill will towards any man or woman in that statement. There is only a hope for a better world. Your point-of-view is that there is no God. Prove it. I say you have a god, you just don't recognize it... your god is yourself. Your god is self-pride much like Lucifer. Self-pride was Lucifer's downfall. Your point-of-view is that religion is a negative force. God didn't create all the religions in the world. I think MAN did that, you know trying to make up a new religion or a new non-religion that better suits his needs so he doesn't have to make changes in his own life. You know....more of that "taking matters into our own hands."

Your point-of-view is that there is no God. Prove it. I say you have a god, you just don't recognize it... your god is yourself. This is a very common and also a very weak position theists take when attempting to circumvent the ideas put forth by atheists. I really believe that there is no such thing as god. I also believe that there are no orange polka dotted elephants flying around Los Angeles right now. I also believe that are many other things that do not exist. Lucifer for one. It's not up to me to disprove any of them. If you claim that they are there. Show ME! Otherwise, drop it. I most certainly am not a god. If I were, I'd spend my time helping my creations rather than punishing them for the tendencies I gave them. Man created god in his own image. That is why god is so much like him. We thought him up. We can forget him as well.

Helping your creations? Punishing them? I would think after... laying down some authority and becoming a physical part of His own creation and paying the penalty for His creation's sins with His own physical existence, what more could anyone do?
He didn't give us our sinful tendencies. Those are a result of mankind's original disobedience. Which was... Genesis 3:5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Wanting to be like God...I think that's where we screwed up. I hope He doesn't forget me.

Well, then, he decided that he wanted man to behave in a certain way, even though he had made him to behave another way. Then, god gets mad at man and sends himself to Earth as a man to be killed by men, in order to appease himself for the sins he programmed man to commit. God needs to see a therapist.

God didn't create man, He created the heavens and the earth, you know with the Big Bang. The Bible states that God made man, not created man. We chose the alternate paths. Once again, an example of us humans trying to take matters into our own hands. God didn't get mad at man, He loves Man. Him paying the price is much like your physical-earthly father coming to your rescue if you were in a legal situation due to your own stupid choices and you found yourself locked up in a county jail. The penalty of sin is death. God being a just God had to pay the fine for His own children's stupidity. Freedom to choose. The ball is in our court. I've made my decision as have you. Interesting thing, you see God as being mad with us. I see Him as loving us. I know, I know...you were just being sarcastic.

Under ths Constitution I have the right to believe what I wish and Little Lance, aka moderateamerican will have to learn to live with that. I do not understand how it is ok for him to ridecule my beliefs and call what I believe "fairy tales", but , somehow, it is not alright for me to be a Christian. He claims to base ALL on logic, but he overlooks the logic that will show him that to taunt or belittle someone for their beliefs can be a very dangerous thing. The logic that has led him to state the "religion has done more harm than good throughout history" is also flawed and shows a gross lack of historical knowledge. If you cannot tell the differance between the abuse of religion and actual religion, then , once again, logic has failed you.

God didn't create different denominations of belief. We humans did that.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-WMo1PhpTYIt seems the atheists are starting a much needed revival among the Christian Community. Just goes to show ya, God can even use atheists and their lame tactics to help spread His message. *snicker* ;-)

Not being facetious, but if that was meant for me I can see you don't read the blogs on this forum. Lu Lu & I both swore off Facebook! Part of my reasoning was I have a slooooow landline connection and by the time 'it got up' I was ready to do something else. I'll bet you didn't see the new avatar I gave you either.

You're correct, I didn't read where y'all swore off FaceBook. The link is simply where I've been engaging some atheists in the North Florida area on some of the newspapers Facebook discussion boards.
It's kinda like ole times. They're threatening to sue me, reporting my posts to my employer, etc, etc, etc...same ole crap I dealt with back during my admin tenure on Hey Martha.
I keep inviting them to join us here. I do wish more Sweeper haters would show up here. They make it more fun. ;D
