Why is the single American P.O.W, Bowe Bergdahl, not getting more attention? Why are the politicians not pushing to get him back home?

Don't know if this report is true or not, but this may have something to do with it:
The only known American soldier in Taliban captivity, Bowe Bergdahl, is training fighters in bomb making and ambush, according to one of his captors, on Sunday 08/22/2010, and the Afghan intelligence agents working to free him.
Private Bowe Bergdahl disappeared from an American military base in southeastern Afghanistan in June 2009. On Thursday 04/08/2010 the Taliban aired, through Al-Jazeera a footage a Taliban spokesman said in the video they are demanding the release of some prisoners in exchange for Bowe Bergdahl (see -Bergdahl 04.08.10).
Last week The Sunday Times interviewed one of his captors, shedding light on a case that has baffled USA military officials.
Haji Nadeem, a Taliban deputy district commander in Paktika province said the 24-year-old American had converted to Islam in the months after his capture (see also - U.S Converts). He said Bowe Bergdahl, from Idaho’s Sun Valley, had trained Taliban fighters in bomb-making and ambushing convoys.
“Most of the skills he taught us we already knew. Some of my comrades think he’s pretending to be a Muslim to save himself so they wouldn’t behead him,” said Haji Nadeem.
Afghan intelligence also believes Bowe Bergdahl is “co-operating with the Taliban” at one of its bases in the FATA tribal area of Pakistan. A senior official in Ghazni province, where Bowe Bergdahl was moved before being transferred to Pakistan, said intelligence suggested that the American had acted as an “adviser” to the rebels. * According to The Daily Beast website and the Anchorage Daily News, on Wednesday 12/07/2011, Bowe Bergdahl managed, in late summer 2011, briefly to escape from his capturers and avoided capture for three days and two nights. Searchers finally found him, weak, exhausted and nearly naked in a shallow trench he had dug and covered with leaves.
According to a Taliban source, Bergdahl said he had hoped to find villagers to shelter him and help him contact U.S. officials, The Daily Beast said.
The website said the Taliban had grown to trust Bowe Bergdahl before his escape and let him use a rifle to hunt birds and rabbits. He was allowed to sleep without restraints.
Although he was captured while serving in Afghanistan, The Daily Beast report said Bowe Bergdahl is being held in Pakistan.
