Is it legal for Mugshots.com to post your mugshot online before you go to court for the crime and to charge a fee to remove it?

You should read Terms and Services. The administrator on here is very strict!
Oh and please wear clothes since the Old Man may have a heart attack. We certainly wouldn't want to loose him.. giggles

Is it legal for Mugshots.com to post your mugshot online before you go to court for the crime and to charge a fee to remove it? While I disagree with the practices of such mug shot publications. Arrest records and mug shots are "public record" and therefore are available for publication. I would suggest directing such a question to your lawyer. I feel that such arrest records should be published but only as a community service and NOT for profit in some rag that places "made-up quotes" along side one's mug shot. A publication can publish such information without adding insult to injury to those arrested. We must remember here in America EVERYONE is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law or by confession. This would be a good debate topic. Perhaps those MugShot publications should have to print an "Arrested yet NOT GUILTY" section. Some of the mugshot publications I've seen border on libel and I'm sure we'll be seeing some type of lawsuits aimed at the mugshot publications owners in the near future.
