Whoa them horsies down a bit...don't put us all into that corral
As one who has multiple degrees, but generally chooses not to flaunt them..the way i see it is that the main difference between the "have's" and the "have-not's" is generally ALOT of student loan debt, I know that, fo shure! lol
It would be funny to do a survey asking how many of those with degrees are actually doing work directly related to their degrees.. I bet not as many as everyone might think. I know I'm not. However, since changing career directions, I am now pursuing another degree in the field that I am currently working! LOL
I'm just turning out to be a professional student - BUT I definitely don't think I know it all, and I have friends that are ever so diligent in reminding me of that!! jk

Don't get me wrong I am glad to see people with good educations. I look back and wish now I had went to college.
What I was talking about is people with all these degrees that don't amount to squat. Like my stepdaughter, she went to a university stayed I think 4 or 5 years and now she flips burgers at McDonalds.
Ifin ya go to school to become a doctor, lawyer, nurse, I can fully understand and have great respect for people who spend years studying. But so many just go and get these degrees and most of them do not have the common horse sense to raise a garden, plant a flower, hem a skirt, can and freeze fruits and veges, etc.

kudos to those who had to make that sacrifice, and were rewarded for their hard work with good paying jobs! They are further ahead than the degree seekers, cuz they don't have all the debt!
it's all about making the best choices you can with what you are dealt, and how you deal with it - ya know, the old Lemonade outta lemons, and chicken salad outta chicken shite thing.
Many of the best co-workers I've had learned their trades from the ground up, which actually makes them more valuable to a company than someone who learned it from a textbook.

It's not the degree, it's what you choose to do w/it.

I agree, just because you have a degree doesn't mean your any better than the next person. I dated a guy who had 2 phd's and doctrine....who had to have dr. in front of his name for everything. soon found out he was a controlling jerk that thought he knew everything on earth...but one thing he did not know was compassion and how to treat another human being.

But just because you have a degree, doesn't mean you should be placed in a category with the jerks.
I know alot of great people, most of which you wouldn't be able to tell which ones have degrees or don't.
