Spotted 1 st humming bird today-get feeders out & ready 1 st nature viewing; Mommy and Daddy goose crossing the lake with 5 little gooses tucked tightly between I had Muscovy ducks for a while and built houses for them on stumps at the edge of the lake ( which are now surrounded by water ) each stump is approx. 3' from the water. The Muscovy mother would wait a couple days then fly down to the water and tell her nuborns to drop and they minded her. This ballard that took over one of the houses has had yung'ns now for @ least 4 days and they're not even allowed to come out the door.? Do 'i' leave them alone or help them out and down to the water? If I do, Mom will take off and I'll be left with her kids to take care of. =Been there & done that= I once unloaded baby Muscovys out the rear entrance of one of the houses [secret door-for cleaning house] and I suddenly became their babysitter [or even worse they thought I was Mommy; followed me wherever!!! Not going to have that again.
Day 2 tomorrow::

Been two weeks since I saw my first scout (humming bird male). I finally saw the second one to bad it was another male. dang! Well at least I am ready now for the whole gang.
May 2 I found LuLu (llama) wandering around close to me.. You see she doesn't follow me around. She has not been sheared since before we got her almost a year ago. She just looks like a big fur coat walking on 4 legs.
Well poor old Amos died late in April. Old age is what it was.. Of course LuLu loved poor Amos. So I expected her to morn him.. Well I was sitting in the swing watching her and she turned around. Looked like her pretty long white hair on her rear had something black on it. I just thought it was a big black trash bag. Well that was till I got a good look!!
LuLu is a mama and needed help.. That was a pretty furry black head and a leg instead of a trash bang. Well for heaven sakes it was alive. I called for our locate llama man to see what I should do.. "Let her go on her own for awhile," he told me. Now this big baby was dry so I knew she needed help.
Hubby went to the barn to get a lead rope to hold her while we pulled this pretty little baby. I decided I wasn't going to hold her so I talked to her and told her to help me. I got a hold of the leg and pulled and so did LuLu. One good jerk and it was half way there. One more try and a beautiful little female llama was born.
I never seen a new born baby llama. LuLu didn't even have a milk bag. She didn't even want to clean or take care of her. I did LuLu's job and cleaned her pretty good. My poor little baby couldn't stand on it legs. She was so weak and tired I just thought she needed her mama. You know milk. LuLu just up and walked away.
I took my little Baby Bear and went and got some power milk for babys. I had to take her to the house. Put her on the porch. Next day she stood up. Happy Days!! I took her out to her mama and let her know that was her's.
Let you know more tomorrow.
