I am careful what I post on Facebook. My profile is set to friends only. Still even then i watch what I post I see some people have their whole life on there. It's silly to me course I am an old fuddy duddy anyway. ;D

I search out potential new employees on myspace and facebook. Some of the best "personal references" on a potential new hire are on their own social networking sites.

yeah, i don't get this one either. i always try to keep my postings on Faceplace family friendly. and i'm sure not gonna complain about my hubby (unless it's leaving the door open to the FLIES), my job, gripe and moan and just "lay it all out" I don't understand those people.
there IS private messaging... for heaven's sake. I understand needing to vent but not in public please!!
oh, and i keep my privacy settings on LOCKDOWN.... had a kid's friend over here. when he introduced himself, i looked for him on faceplace. started rattling off all kinds of info about him. He looked SHOCKED. i said ~ it's all there on your faceplace. get some security!!

Definitely keep all of your personal info off of social sites like Facebook!
I do alot of online work for various investigators ( mainly searching for info on specific individuals ) and sites like Facebook provides much valuable information that can be used against them.

there ya go ratman...thats exactly what i mean. some people when they want to find you, they will trace who is related to you, get their name and then start harrassing them also. some put their email add. phone, city, almost anything.what really kills me is 'hey we going to tennessee. gonna miss ya be back such and such day..

Yeah, my house will be empty - please drop by... I make it a point to mention my huge dogs- my cousin bubba, brother joe bob, ( who might stop by at anytime and walk up in my house) the 3 shotguns by the front door and the alarm system. besides that - privacy lockdown! I've taken my info off google, spokeo and argued points with ppl to get my name off their site. I've been lucky with many folks i've met online. Some frightened me.

Facebook has another security breach. This time, Farmville is sending out your personal information to people.

I have a saying on my facebook page.
If you don't want people to see your skid marks...... Don't hang your dirty laundry on a public clothes line.
