Dear Jo Anne,
You have been so very patient with me over my hibernation. Seems every time I get over something another gremlin attacks from behind.
So far I have had 6 months of chemo. They did not give me my last treatment because I was having so much it was doing permanent damage to my feet and fingers. The chemo attacks the sole of your feet and palms of your hands as well as the beds underneath your nails. Very painful. As well as no hair, sick, tired, yellow, painful arms, chemical overdoses, injecting myself in the tummy, mouth ulcers, blood tests every time I turned around, eyesight affected, nose bleeds, headaches so bad, very sore tender head from no hair, mood swings and generally very scared.
After they gave me a couple of weeks to build up my platelets before surgery, this went well. Just before surgery (as in I had 23 hours to decide) my team decided to change my type of operation and went in through my nipple and under my arm. Instead of moving my muscle from my shoulder blade. The only reason I went ahead with this was because the second plan was still available if there was a oops with the first one. To my absolute delight they have done a marvellous job. My boob is a little smaller but but the scares are hardly there and I still have a boob. They got the lot, scooped me out like an ice cream, moved my inside boob around then removed 11 of my 20 lymph glands. Everybody has a different number of glands under there.
I was in hospital for one week, home for one week and then back in hospital for one week. Fluid built up and was being troublesome. Next cording in my arm which is exceptionally painful, my physio said I had the most impressive cording she had ever seen. Radiation everyday for 6 weeks and dealing with the cording. Keeping my arms above my head was very painful. Radiation was harder than the chemo in many ways. Everybody said - Oh you will breeze through Rado. Well not so at all. I was exceptionally lucky and blessed when my friend Anne and her husband Col offered me their soon to be retirement home in Ballarat to stay in for the duration. I came home on weekends but it was a haven. They have a lovely house in town 3 doors down from the lake and only a few blocks from the hospital. At first I could stroll down for radiation but that only lasted about a week before I was too sick again. The last week of radiation they gave me a big boost which was not a lot of fun.
Finally over - well no. I grew more cording and got over that and now am struggling with Lymphedema. This too is painful. I have massages to move the fluid around and that helps a lot. Everything is fine but I had a scare this last week that set me back, I wonder how long these will last. Just wish they would give you results of test on the spot.
Now let's try for some good news.
My hands are getting better, my finger nails are getting better, about another 6 months and they should be all fixed. My toe nails about another 4/5 months and they should be better. The soles of my feet may never come good. The cording is almost gone. I am down to usually only 1 or 2 ulcers in my mouth at a time now. I have just started to get my taste buds back. I feel sick only about twice a week now. My hair is growing. They said it would come back a different colour no one said anything about silver. Yep. I will send you a photo.
I am stitching again. I do a little gardening now, usually too much so I have started to set a timer so I come in at a set time not when I finish the job. I am doing more house work and have been back at work a bit. Usually I go in when there is no one around but next week we have a hanging so light duties for me. But gosh I am looking forward to it.
Cam still cooking all the meals but I help more and more and am doing dishes more. I make the bed most days now.
Would you believe that yesterday was one year since I found the Lump?
Looks to me like a few more months before I am recovered but by golly I am coming good. If I look at even a few months ago I am sooooo much better.
But wait there is still more good news on my front. Cam and I are heading away on 21 June for a cruise across the Arctic circle. We are flying business class ( using up our points ) to Copenhagen for 2 days joining a small ship for 3 weeks and sailing around the Norwegian Fiords and up to the top of Russia, this will give me a good rest and nowhere hot. I sure am looking forward to a holiday. We disembark in Southampton and after a few gentle days in Cornwall we are catching the train to Paris and hiring a car to drive to the top of Spain. All is well and truly slow paced. Cam will be doing most of the driving while I get to be lady muck. We are not staying in Paris and only have one night where we stay in one place for only one night. We will be away for 7 weeks. In Cornwall, which isn't far from Southhampton we want to go and see the village where the Dr Martin show is made. Have you ever watched that? It looks so pretty.
But wait there is still more good news. Yesterday - yes the dreaded one year lump yesterday. I picked up a new car. It is a station wagon Benz in silver white. It is home in the garage where I will circle it for a few weeks while I get the hang of it. Must say it is pretty snazzy. Hoping it will lead to lots of road trips which we enjoy so very much.
I am so very sorry I have been in hibernation. It has been the only way I have coped with all this. Sometimes it was weeks when I didn't even look at the iPad. Some days it was just too heavy and I only have a mini. But after a whinge like this you will be glad I wasn't bothering you with all the s--- that was going on here.
How are you Dear Jo Anne? How is Terry? Where are all the family? Is it starting warm up there? You are indeed a patient lovely loved lady.

Why I do what I do:
What is the purpose of posting simple nu-analytical information to Weird? Why do 'we' spend our time 'clicking & clicking' to post another >nothing< on a forum that has no meaning or purpose? ***It's because 'we' are human and desire and demand recognition from our piers however and whenever 'we' can get it > Human Nature! "WE" over time develop relations with other bloggers that have similar interests, different attitudes, and diversive thinking. This sometimes creates conflict which is what many consider entertainment and proceed to expand on the argument - which all people love to do: For that reason or 'reasons' I continue to post on a forum that offers recognition and clarity to a totally nondescript website I love.
PS: Please add your "Existence" to this forum!
