This article needs attention from an expert on the subject. Shame - Self-abasement is voluntary self-punishment or humiliation in order to atone for some real or imagined wrongdoing.
Narcissism It has been suggested that narcissism in adults is related to defenses against shame[15] and that narcissistic personality disorder is connected to shame as well.[16][17] Psychiatrist Glen Gabbard suggested that NPD could be broken down into two subtypes, a grandiose, arrogant, thick-skinned "oblivious" subtype and an easily hurt, oversensitive, ashamed "hypervigilant" subtype. The oblivious subtype presents for admiration, envy, and appreciation a grandiose self that is the antithesis of a weak internalized self which hides in shame, while the hypervigilant subtype neutralizes devaluation by seeing others as unjust abusers.[16] [edit] Social aspects

Shame is considered one aspect of socialization in all societies. According to the anthropologist Ruth Benedict, cultures may be classified by their emphasis on the use of either shame or guilt to regulate the social activities of individuals. Shared opinions and expected behaviours and potential associated feelings of shame are in any case proven to be effective in guiding behaviour of a group or society. Shame may be used by those people who commit relational aggression and may occur in the workplace as a form of overt social control or aggression. Shaming is also a central feature of punishment, shunning, or ostracism. In addition, shame is often seen in victims of child neglect and child abuse.

A PAC like Leaders for Families can go into operation without scrutiny, file its status at the 11th hour before an election, fund a candidate to the eyeballs with shadow money, and disband all two to three weeks before the FEC can process all of the paperwork.
(((probably one of the most 'evil' things to ever come about in politics))) Assures the 1%ers stay in control, whether it be banking, wall street, politics, or some under ground group.

The bet is for who places higher in South Carolina...Ron Paul or Rick Santorum buys supper at Stones. Agreed?!?! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =*= Agreed! =*= (?) have you conceded yet (?)
Now what "WE" got here is another damn Northerner from Pennsylvania com'n to the south to show 'us' how damn smart he is and convince 'us' to vote fir'm! Well 'i'll tell u rit now 'we' got our own mind down here and 'we' still don't tolerate them damn smart a** Yankees!
I'm giving you fair warning Jean when this news comes out, Ricky will be lucky to leave SC in one piece or be tared & feathered and sent out on a rail when he goes. Them good'ol southern boys don't take kindly to things like are mentioned below. And if it doesn't come out in SC I'm sure by Florida time it'll be all over!
Santorum's Ties to Sandusky/Penn State Scandal/Paedophilia
Rick Santorum has peripheral involvement in the child molestation scandal at Penn State. Apparently Santorum's potential involvement is through a program that placed wayward kids in a position to work for congressmen as pages and such.
He'd better explain this "1" real quick!

The Romney campaign is rolling, both in votes and in cash. If he wins in South Carolina, with a much heavier concentration of evangelical Christians and Tea Partiers, it will likely be game, set and match. He’s already running his campaign as though Obama is his opponent, and not the assemblage of Republican wannabees, as-beens and looney-tunes who are still in the race. He is, of course, the most palatable of the bunch in the general election; apparently that trumps the doubts so many in the party have about him, at least so far. S.C. will be an intriguing test, though, with its history of no-holds barred campaigning (remember the flyer claiming that McCain fathered a Black child out of wedlock?) and surprise winners. It will be interesting to see if the charges that his Bain Capital Management group acted as greedy corporate raiders, trashing companies and laying off workers for a fast buck, will stick in a state much harder hit by the recession than Iowa and New Hampshire.

CATHOLIC MOLESTERS: Sex Crimes And The Vatican (CBC) (2006) Posted by Clint under Documentaries, Links, Media, Politics, Religion, Video [26] Comments
This seems like an interesting documentary to download. Get it HERE. Here is the summary: Created in 1962, a now infamous document was issued insecret to bishops. Called Crimen Sollicitationis, it outlined procedures to befollowed by bishops when dealing with allegations of child abuse, homosexuality and bestiality by members of the clergy. It swore all parties involved to secrecy on pain of excommunication from the Catholic Church. This document was reissued in 2001 by Cardinal JosephRatzinger and sent to all bishops. Yet rather than ordering more openness and cooperation with the authorities as demanded by both law enforcers and the victims, he reiterated its policies and ensured that the Code of Silence be applied to all cases of child abuse involving a priest. Cardinal Ratzinger also instructed that all cases should now be referred to his office directly and that he would maintain ‘exclusive competence’ over the handling of allegations. [read on for more] This is the Catholic Church’s policy to this day and Cardinal Ratzinger is nowPope Benedict XVI. The policy laid out in the above document has led to systemic failure by the result that a significant number of priest have, ineffect, been allowed to abuse again, and further children have been put at risk

No one has ever died from smoking marijuana. But getting busted with a small amount of marijuana has led to countless tragic deaths.
This week, Shelley Hilliard, a 19-year-old woman from Detroit, was killed after working as a police informant. On October 20, Hilliard was arrested for a small amount of marijuana. The police offered her a way out: She could set up a drug deal. She called a drug dealer and said she had someone who wanted to buy $335 of cocaine and marijuana. When the dealer showed up he was arrested. The dealer was released, and three days later Hilliard was found dead in the streets. The dealer has been charged with murder.
Hilliard tragic death brings back memories of Rachel Hoffman, the 23-year-old, Florida State graduate from Tallahassee who also worked as an informant after she was busted with a small amount of marijuana and Ecstasy. Hoffman was sent alone on a "buy and bust" and was given $13,000 to buy Ecstasy, cocaine and a gun. The men shot Hoffman five times, stole her car and credit card, and dumped her body into a ditch. This week Tallahassee approved a $2.6 million settlement with Rachel's parents.
These two women should still be with us on this earth, but were instead pawns in an unwinnable drug war that led to their violent deaths.
There are so many sick aspects of the failed drug war, but law enforcement's forcing people with a drug arrest to choose between draconian prison sentences or becoming an informant is one of the most nauseating. My friend and colleague, Anthony Papa, was sentenced to 15-years-to-life after a bowling buddy convinced him to drop off an envelope of cocaine in exchange for $500. The bowling buddy had been busted for drugs and the police said he was facing a long mandatory minimum drug sentence unless he could help them bust more people. The more people he helped them set up, the less prison time he would get. So he ruined his friend Papa's life (and many others) by setting him up in a drug sting.
There are more than 1.6 million drug arrests in the U.S. every year - the vast majority for mere possession. So many deaths and so many people are behind bars because police use people who get caught with small amounts of drugs to set up family, friends and strangers.

Wealthy 'vs' Others ....1%,, 'vs' 99% Among the wealthy there are many different varieties: 1. Elected government officials- the ones that have made it off the backs of the working class taking our tax dollars for their salaries, pensions, giving themselves increases and playing by different rules than the rest of "US". Most have never actually worked a day in their lives, have no-idea what it's like to be poor, haven't done anything for the people they represent (currently) accept bury "US' in debt and do nothing to get "US" out! They're also the ones who do insider trading because they have inside access to the countries dealings to get even richer.
2. Aristocrat wealthy that have inherited their wealth from their fore-fathers. The railroad barons, oil entrepreneurs, and businesses established from the 30's thru the 60's. Yes they took advantage of people or they wouldn't have become rich, but they also provided many with livelihoods.
3, Modern wealthy that have created fortunes almost over night and have made many wealthy by working with them and by going public in their businesses and selling stock in them.
4. Greedy wealthy are the tyrants, those that have gained their wealth by manipulation, bribery, distortion, and any other illegal activity they could get by with. Haven't 'never' done anything for the country or it's people.
Yes! they've all provided revenue, salarys, and kept us living to provide them with the work force they needed to become rich, making sure their profits far exceeded those of their employees. That's just how the world works, the way it always has, the way it always will! Many other self-employed individuals have become wealthy, and many have just fell into it in many different ways. But most of "US" ( the 99%'ers ) or interested in living moderately and providing the necessitys for our families and getting ahead some for retirement. Then there's some that don't know what they want and if they had it they wouldn't know it or they'd blow it!!!!

Reputation of a social entity (a person, a group of people, an organization) is an opinion about that entity, typically a result of social evaluation on a set of criteria. It is important in education, business, and online communities. Reputation may be considered as a component of the identity as defined by others. Reputation is known to be an ubiquitous, spontaneous and highly efficient mechanism of social control in natural societies. It is a subject of study in social, management and technological sciences. Its influence ranges from competitive settings, like markets, to cooperative ones, like firms, organisations, institutions and communities. Furthermore, reputation acts on different levels of agency, individual and supra-individual. At the supra-individual level, it concerns groups, communities, collectives and abstract social entities (such as firms, corporations, organizations, countries, cultures and even civilizations). It affects phenomena of different scale, from everyday life to relationships between nations. Reputation is a fundamental instrument of social order, based upon distributed, spontaneous social control.

The newest member of the Maple Leaf family of pure bullion coins, the palladium Maple Leaf was first minted in November 2005. As a major Royal Canadian Mint Distributor, Monex was able to acquire a significant portion of the limited first in order to make them available at volume prices. Monex currently offers one-ounce palladium Maple Leaf coins for personal delivery only, in units of 10 one-ounce coins.
Each palladium Maple Leaf coin prominently features Canada's national symbol, the maple leaf, on the coin's reverse, and an updated portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt on the obverse side. The coin is struck in pure .9995 fine palladium at the Royal Canadian Mint and carries a face value of 50 Canadian dollars.
Each coin is manufactured to meet the high quality standards of the Royal Canadian Mint, and the weight, purity and face value of each coin are all guaranteed by the Canadian government.
Palladium Canadian Maple Leaf coins are an ideal way to take advantage of the price appreciation potential of palladium...a market that just a few short years ago reached a high of nearly $1,100 an ounce, nearly four times the price of gold at the time, but today is selling for a mere fraction of that amount. In addition, palladium Maple Leaf coins provide investors with the means to diversify, balance and stabilize a well-rounded investment portfolio.

The creative fine line between genius and insanity by Thomas Kurkoski Created on: January 16, 2008 Genius and insanity abound on all fronts of every person every day. So, where is the line? Is it a line of making in the shadows of professional relationships or does it come from the personal relationships we hold so dear and continually try to dismantle? There really is no creative fine line between anything. The lines are made, thick and black and glaring. The only question here is of a difference between genius and insanity. What is the difference? Genius is all around us. From the smart moves of a financial tycoon to the despairing moment-by-moment life a poet lives. And what of insanity? Where does it come to play? Insanity is the inside coat pocket of society. We are all accused of being insane; of making poor decisions, of living without thinking, and of trying when futility is so noticeable that it hurts. But we try anyway. When genius fails, we go for the insanity. Everywhere we look people are comparing themselves to the genius, to the insane, to the dead. We must make our own moves, be them a touch insane or perhaps sparked by genius. It is within all of us to write a "Sophie's Choice". A work of literary genius penned by the insane. To be human is to have more than a moment of insanity. To be human is to have more than a moment of genius. The genius are often insane, and the insane are often genius. The two go hand-in-hand, living the duality of life the comes from the pressure of the opposing sides. Without one, you cannot have the other. Styron and Hemingway are proof-positive that insanity is the underlying foundation of genius. Bukowski and Kerouc are the genius that lives in insanity. Within society though, they all lived and created. Insane, genius, or otherwise they all had their moments to share, their stories to tell, their insane genius to battle. From drink and clinical illness and genetic predisposition we have come so far. Life is not what it used to be. It is now a battle raging in all of us. That is why we write, love, hate, and share ourselves with total strangers. We all have a bit of genius and crazy in us. That is what makes us people. The insanity of life drives our genius. We are the derivative of the life we lead. Some moments are better than others, some worse, but they all chisel us into something that needs something else. We drive and fight and want to press on. To be better. There is nothing better than stepping across a line in the sand. To say: "I have done it." The genius oft times don't step across that line, but leap across it, screaming: "I have done it!". Usually it is insane, but to make a mark and progress us forward, it is necessary that someone do just that. As the genius knows, it is not about what you do, but rather how you do it. Sometimes it is practical to take the daring step, to oppose, and to kill the critics back with a fury of: "you didn't like it the first time....what do you think now?!?". Genius coming forward forces us to think and rethink what we thought we knew. The insanity lies in the chance taken. The daring, under-encouraged, and the addicted are the jewels in the crown of humanitarian prospects. Fame and fortune not withstanding, it is in all of us to be the genius. Rightly so, it is also in all of us to be the insane. To not be either is to be nothing. We need the insane as much as we need the genius. The insane are the genius. And the genius are insane. There is no line, not in this sandbox of American society. media.2leep.com/98127-140.jpgmy avatar on another forum Select Albert Einstein Quotations Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Cry Baby Semi Permanent Mascara Tracey Wells, a local eyelash and makeup artist, works with Cry Baby Semi Permanent Mascara which was recently recognized in Allure's "Best of Beauty" issue. The mascara is applied in-house at Wells' salon, and it lasts for up to two to three weeks at a time.
[/img] Wells also does exemplary eyelash extension work that serves as a natural-looking alternative to often over-the-top, and sometimes unsafe, drugstore fake eyelashes. Between Cry Baby Mascara and her eyelash extensions, Wells is quickly becoming the foremost eyelash expert in the Queen City area.

I was going to make a snarky reply, but I'm just utterly at a loss for words. The unbridled hubris of this "un-named" hollywood mogul is breathtaking. I don't even know where to begin to express my disillusionment, anger and frustration at the clueless, corrupt morons in charge of this country (with their fingers on the big red button to boot).
I need to go away and think about this - we (the people) have the power to change the system, but we just can't be bothered to exercise our control - and this is the result.
I almost feel like I'm going through the five stages of grief on learning that the country I love is dead... Only I'm just finishing the denial and moving to the anger stage...
