I've had a couple of people on FB say they had questions about this forum, so maybe they'll post them here. My question is, how can we get email notice there is a new post where we've posted?

Sandra, That feature isn't presently available. It will be in the near future. All, We are in the process of redirecting to our primary site www.thepeoplesforumsite.comand employing a forum platform that will offer more features. This migration will be transparent to the members of ASO. After this migration we will start creating "regional areas" for local discussions. You know....crawl before we walk, and we should be up and running in time. We will be making these changes as soon as ASO staff get together and discuss our options. Web advertising will be hitting newspapers' sites within a week or two. It is our intention to target the regional newspapers of the old Hey Martha forums with "purchased web-advertising". We feel that this is a more professional way to grow traffic rather than invading other peoples forums and flooding them with lame advertisements promoting ASO. I didn't agree with that tactic back in the days of Hey Martha and I still don't agree with it now. Stay tuned, improvements are forthcoming and change is in the air. I appreciate the support for ASO thus far. Thanks to all the new members and keep spreading the word. But please, do NOT use another forum as an advertising means to populate ASO. Post On!  |

I was referring to spamming someone else's forum.
If they have no problem with it then I have no problem with it.
I just don't want ASO members spamming other forums with advertisements in an effort to populate ASO.
Perhaps we should create a forum area on ASO where alternative forum addresses can be posted.

Sandra, To receive either a Private Message or e-mail notification on a specific thread you will need to first bookmark the thread you want to receive notification on. Once you've bookmarked it, go to your profile page and click "bookmarks" When your bookmarked thread(s) are displaying look in the upper right hand side of the window and click "manage bookmarks" There you can assign either a "Private Message" or an "email" notification. I have a question with State Level Politics? There are only 2 states on there. Georgia and Mississippi how do we add our states or other we want to talk about. I mean heck there are other states the last time I looked aren't there. I live close to Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee.. Those aren't the only states in the union after all.. Maybe I made a mistake in coming here if you just want to talk about the southern states. Be fair!! We can vote to!!  |

Is there any way to reverse the message listing so the new messages come up first? From past experiences when the newest post appears first it seems threads get off subject way too quickly. They quickly turn into personal attack threads instead of discussion threads. Welcome to the forum lensman.  |

How do we get these pretty stars we have on here any way? I have sent a message to the administrator asking this. I was wondering if he is still around.  I was also wanting to put something special on the weather.. I just want it only the weather and nothing else. You know since we are having all this strange weather going on today. Would this be a good thing for us to know about what is happening to all of us and others.. Each person could if they wanted to let us know their weather. It would be interesting to find out. I have an idea of a section of "Funny True Storys"! Now I think that would draw allot of attention. I see many of them.. People love jokes, so why not let them see the funny or stupid things that people do. It doesn't happen every day but it would be great to see them on here. It might cause people to want to come here and read all of them.. Well what do you think of my ideas?  |
