wel·fare (wlfâr) n. 1. a. Health, happiness, and good fortune; well-being. Yes! Some of "US" have it others don't... 'i' suppose God meant it to be that way so those that have can share with the less fortunate and show our gratitude to God. Keeping in mind - since it's "US" sharing we'll be sure who should get it! b. Prosperity. Now what is this? Are "WE" talking money... or family ... are just being a US citizen? With freedom of religion & life. 2. Welfare work. How much does this cost "US" knowing how (hard) many government employees work. NO! not paying welfare recipients but what who gets payed to do it???3. a. Financial or other aid provided, especially by the government, to people in need. The last people in the world to know how to provide aid is the government, don't you agree ... just look @ their record!!!b. Corporate welfare. I'm assuming this is baling out GM, Wall Street, and the many banks that all got "US" in this mess to begin with!!!!!!!!!! BUT DON'T FORGET "WE" STILL HAVE TO BAIL OUT (((government))) THAT DID IT ALL!!! Idiom:::: idiom - definition of idiom by the Free Online Dictionary, ((A speech form or an expression of a given language that is peculiar to itself grammatically or cannot be understood from the individual meanings of its elements)) on welfare Receiving regular assistance from the government or private agencies because of need. 14 to 16 Trillion in debt but assisting welfare recipients, other countries, and certain other constitutes. YEW! we're in "good hands"

So we all need it some how or another some day.. You just might get down on you luck some how and need a friend to help you out. Welfare isn't a bad thing if you don't abuse it. Think about the young that don't have food and are starving. What about the old who don't have any pride left to ask for help even. Can't you at least find it in your heart to help these who really need these things. Open up your hearts and give willingly. I think we need to start taking care of our own at home. Our welfare system need to take care of homeless to that live on the streets and don't have a home.. How can you get a job if you don't have a home. If you live on the streets you might wish you lived in another country this government give so much of it money to. We can't take care of are own but we take care of the other country's of the world. God help the homeless family that lives on the streets.

welfare (( thesaurus )) ... a book of words & information n. 1.Personal condition health, happiness, well-being, benefit, profit, prosperity, good, good fortune, progress, state of being. 2.Social service social work, public assistance, public works, social aid, unemployment benefits, child welfare, federal aid, poverty program, social insurance, Social Security, health service, the dole; see also aid If "WE" spent what it cost the gov to provide all these services by hiring the people to service each ( some of which do a miserable job but continue to be employed ) there'd be plenty for the homeless ( besides; would 'U' believe some people want to be that way? ) Give them money, a job, even a home { BUT } because it was all given to them with no effort on their part it was soon all gone and they were back where they started from. Welfare should be earned not given. If the gov is going to pay them anyhow why not require them to provide some service for the country that's supporting them? If you can accept welfare you shouldn't be too proud to preform any task your capable of: It "irks me" when 'i' see the person in line in front of me @ the Grocery store with all the nick-naks, bologna, ham, boxed 'microwave goodies, not counting the 6 pack. Also to see the 'parents without partners' in the wellfare office all dolled up and smelly on their cell phone calling their next victim or setting up the party for the night now that they're getting 'our' money. THE WELFARE SYSTEM IS [shadow=red,left,300]"broke"[/shadow] in more than 1 way!!!! PS 'i' do agree with what you said above and "WE" should be caring and generous with those that 'truly' need help but it's my personal opinion that there's more abusers and users than there is losers (a person or thing that loses especially consistently. a person who is incompetent or unable to succeed )( or people just down on their luck.) didn't mean to 'U'!

This is definitely one of my personal "soap box" issues...I don't condemn the idea of the welfare system, however I find great fault in a system that encourages dependency instead of supply assistance.
For me it's plain and simple: help those that need help AND are trying to support their families - All welfare recipients should be required to work at least part time - not discouraged from it because their eligibility would be threatened.
Place limits on additional payments for "new" dependents (baby-mills), verify addresses and true residences, no more than 1 claim for assistance per address, and length of assistance - no longer than 1 year-with at least 1 year between welfare claims in the same household.
I know I've simplified the problem but at least it might get us bak to basics.

'Me' too, girl! When 'u' have personal experiences with people accepting welfare it puts a complete different perspective on the issue. PE 1: Cousin owned a grocery store & liquor store next to each other-they'd come in with their food stamps, buy some little items like potatoe chips, balonie, ding dongs, and maybe a loaf of bread then give the clerk the food stamp-get their change and go next door and buy pop & beer. PE 2: Had to speak to an employee @ the {child welfare office}, she was busy so 'i' had to set and wait; here's what 'i' saw; a bunch of women, some with kids-some not { many 'i' recognized from acouple bars 'i' frequented}. There they set with their cell phones (all busy lining up the days activities*and night-since they had nothing else to do) smelling like they just come out of a hoe house. Dressed nice, moderately for the most part [not like 'i'saw them the night before], lots of jewelry ( 'ill confess-costomue) , all knew each other. ~~~Now 'we' get to crying, moaning, sad, pitiful elaborations @ the counter when it came their turn up. But as they turned from the counter after recieving their checks they all had smiles on their faces. You think 'i'm exaggerating 'maybe alittle' but 99&44/100% true.
To complete 'my' blog relating to mksred 'i' have one thing to say; The government is 'real good' @ starting things, but @ following up and completeing or monitoring things, terrible.
