White House shifts in unpredictable debt debate

The roller-coaster debate over raising the nation's debt limit has forced the White House to explain away[Obamas' specialty], brush aside or even ignore declarations by President Barack Obama and his top aides[czars] that no longer served much purpose ((( no longer serve much purpose ))) in the unpredictable negotiations. First, the White House [HOPE] wanted the debt ceiling vote separated from spending cuts. Now the administration [HOPE] likes them linked. Then, Obama [HOPE] adamantly vowed to reject any short-term deal to raise the borrowing limit. Now the White House [HOPE] says he could make an exception. And Obama [HOPE] pledged to meet with congressional leaders every day until a deal was reached. But the daily meetings stopped or at least disappeared from the president's [HOPE] schedule

NEW OBAMA TAX SLIPPED IN WHILE WE WERE ASLEEP.

President Obama's finance team is recommending a
one percent (1%) transaction fee (TAX). Obama's
plan is to sneak it in after the November
elections to keep it under the radar.

This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any
financial institution - banks, credit unions,
savings and loans, etc. Any deposit you make, or
even a transfer within your account, will have a
1% tax charged.
~If your paycheck or your social security or
whatever is direct deposit, it will get a 1% tax
charged for the transaction.
~If your paycheck is $1000, then you will pay
Obama $10 just for the privilege of depositing
your paycheck in your bank. Even if you hand carry
your paycheck or any check into your bank for a
deposit, 1% tax will be charged.
~You receive a $5,000 stock dividend from your
broker, Obama takes $50 just to allow you to
deposit that check in the bank.
~If you take $1,000 cash to deposit at your bank,
1% tax will be charged.

Mind you, this is from the man who promised that,
if you make under $250,000 per year, you will not
see on e penny of new tax. Keep your eyes and ears
open, you will be amazed at what you learn about
this guy's under-the-table moves to increase the
number of ways you are taxed.

~Oh, and by the way, you receive a refund from
the IRS next year and you have it direct
deposited or you walk in to deposit that check,
you guessed it. You will pay a 1% charge of that
money just for putting it in your bank. Remember,
any money, cash, check or whatever, no matter
where it came from, you will pay a 1% fee if you
put it in the bank.

Some will say, oh well, it's just 1%. Are you
kidding me? It's a 1% tax increase across the
board. Remember, once the tax is there, they can
also raise it at will.

And if anyone
protests, they will just say, "oh,that's not
really a tax, it's a user fee"! Think this is no
big deal? Go back and look at the transactions you
made from last year's banking statements. Then add
the total of all those transactions and deduct 1%.
Still think it's no big deal???

More American voters disapprove than approve of the job President Obama is doing. Likewise, if making a choice today, more voters say they would back someone else for president in 2012 than say they would give Obama a second term.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney remains Republican primary voters’ preferred candidate. He’s also the GOP contender more voters see as likely to do a good job in the White House.

These are some of the findings from a Fox News poll released Wednesday.

Currently 42 percent of voters approve of Obama’s job performance and 48 percent disapprove. Last month, before the agreement on the nation’s debt limit was finalized, 45 percent approved and 46 percent disapproved (July 17-19, 2011).

The drag on the president’s rating these days is not only lower approval among Democrats, which currently stands at 77 percent, but also a record-low 31 percent approval among independents. Approval among Republicans is 6 percent -- matching a previous record-low in October 2010.

Three significant historical events have been eclipsed by Obama: 1) Jimmy Carter will no longer be looked upon as the worst president in American history; 2) Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton will no longer be recognized as the greatest liars in presidential history; 3) Clinton's stain on Monica's dress, and what that did to White House in general and the office of the president specifically, will forever pale in comparison to the stain and stench of Obama.

I need not spend much time on the failure of Obama as president. His tenure has been a failure on every measurable level. So much so, in fact, that some of the staunchest, most respected liberal Democrats and Democratic supporters have not only openly criticized him – some even more harshly than this essayist – but they have called for him to step down.

Richard Nixon's words "I am not a crook," punctuated with his involvement in Watergate, and Bill Clinton's finger-wagging as he told one of the most pathetic lies in presidential history, in the aftermath of Obama, will be viewed as mere prevarications.

Mr. Nixon and Clinton lied to save their backsides. Although, I would argue there are no plausible explanations for doing what they did, I could entertain arguments pursuant to understanding their rationales for lying. But in the case of Obama, he lies because he is a liar. He doesn't only lie to cover his misdeeds – he lies to get his way. He lies to belittle others and to make himself look presentable at their expense. He lies about his faith, his associations, his mother, his father and his wife. He lies and bullies to keep his background secret. His lying is congenital and compounded by socio-psychological factors of his life.

Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequalled. Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood.

As the stock markets were crashing, taking with them the remaining life saving of untold tens of thousands, Obama was hosting his own birthday celebration, which was an event of epicurean splendidness. The shamelessness of the event was that it was not a state dinner to welcome foreign dignitaries, nor was it to honor an American accomplishment – it was to honor the Pharaoh, Barack Hussein Obama. The event's sole purpose was for the Pharaoh to have his loyal subjects swill wine, indulge in gluttony and behavior unfit to take place on the property of taxpayers, as they suffer. It was of a magnitude comparable to that of Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski's $2 million birthday extravaganza for its pure lack of respect for the people.

Permit me to digress momentarily. The U.S. Capitol and the White House were built with the intent of bringing awe and respect to America and her people. They were also built with the intent of being the greatest of equalizers. I can tell you, having personally been to both, there is a moment of awe and humility associated with being in the presence of the history of those buildings. They are to be honored and inscribed into our national psyche, not treated as a Saturday night house party at Chicago's Cabrini-Green.

The people of America own that home Obama and his wife continue to debase with their pan-ghetto behavior. It is clear that Obama and family view themselves as royalty, but they're not. They are employees of "we the people," who are suffering because of his failed policies. What message does this behavior send to those who today are suffering as never before?

What message does it send to all Americans who are struggling? Has anyone stopped to think what the stock market downturn forebodes for those 80 million baby boomers who will be retiring in the next period of years? Is there a snowball's chance in the Sahara that every news program on the air would applaud this behavior if it were George W. Bush? To that point, do you remember the media thrashing Bush took for having a barbecue at the White House?

Like Nero – who was only slightly less debaucherous than Caligula – with wine on his lips Obama treated "we the people" the way Caligula treated those over whom he lorded.

Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders. He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement – while America's people go homeless, hungry and unemployed.

The President believes that poor can only be helped by the government and cannot move up to the middle class. But when Russian-Americans came to the United States they too were poor and within one generation became solidly middle class. They saw in themselves as proof that Obama and other liberals are wrong. Obama wanted change. But this community chose to come to the United States because they liked what it stood for, not because they wanted to see it “changed” to look more like the place they left. The hard liberalism of Barack Obama reminded them too much of the system they had hoped to leave behind when they came to America. Government control? Fighting and demonizing the successful and the businessmen? No, that’s not what these people came here for.

My Grandfather came to America from Bohimia without a penney in his pocket. He got a job as a tailor. He married, bought a house and put two children through college.
The differance today is that so many have been on welfare for so long. Why work when you can get the equivelent of a $60,000 a year income for not lifting a finger? The welfare system has destroyed the American Family unit (the husband cannot be in the home if the family is receiving full welfare benefits) plus it has destroyed any sense of personal pride.
Today it is an evil thing to work hard and gain personal wealth. The "American Dream" is dead.

I know. It’s not fair to slam Robin Hood that way. After all, he did take from the King (the government, at that time) who was truly wealthy, and give to the poor—who were really poor, and who the King abused and taxed at will [glow=red,2,300] ((( now who was that? )))[/glow]—to pay for his excesses. There’s one new twist: this "Robin Hood is acting like the King!"
Or maybe this situation is not all that different after all. President Obama (Robin Hood/The King) figured out how to fund his half-billion dollar mini-stimulus plan, the one he wants Congress to approve “right now!”

If Congress will simply will take away those dirty old tax breaks for oil and gas companies, private jet owners, and rich hedge-fund managers and then increase taxes on people making more than $200,000, it will (Voila’) just about equal (over ten years time) the amount Robin Hood/King Obama wants to “give away,” trying to stimulate the moribund economy and “buy his reelection.” (Ignore, please that the last “stimulus” was almost twice this big and it had little visible impact on the economy after a one-time blip.)

But now it’s different: Robin Hood-King Obama needs to “create (fund) those jobs” to make things look better in the economy, because that means more votes for his reelection in 2012. Who wouldn’t vote for a leader that gives away money? Maybe the House GOP?

Perhaps it is humane, sensible and necessary to “dump some more money” into the economy. Things are terrible. The payroll tax exemption is the simplest way to do that for everyone—equally. Thus, if Robin Hood-King Obama is to get his way, this may be the least offensive solution—especially if combined with incentives to small businesses to help its growth. But this is a Band-Aid™ on a “gaping wound” (our budget deficit and sick economy) that is draining our life’s blood. It is also a clever, short term ploy.

Robin Hood-King Obama also wants to levy new taxes to pay for his increases in spending in dozens of other places, ($1.40 for every $1.00 of income!) because there is no way he’ll cut spending. There is just too much that government needs to do for his “subjects.”

After all, what rich, fat-cat oil companies, (tycoons) and wealthy, greedy hedge fund managers can’t spare some extra bucks in taxes? And ground those corporate jets too (but not Air Force One–there’s a campaign to wage). This is the same old song, replayed: tax big oil, private jet owners, hedge fund managers, and those “rich folks” making over $200,000 per year. Those must be the “millionaires and billionaires” he always talks about?

I know a lot of those $200,000/year people, and they all have mortgage payment—if they are lucky enough to have a house mortgage that isn’t in foreclosure.) They also have children in college. With the Federal and state taxes already taking around 40-50% of their paychecks, they don’t feel so rich. In fact, many of them are downright resentful that this elitist Robin Hood-King Obama in the White House “defines them” as wealthy and then goes on TV and scolds them. Class warfare is still a sharp arrow in Robin Hoods quiver.

These $200,000/year income people are not “poor,” but they worked hard to climb this far up the income ladder, often relying on small businesses and/or dual incomes to reach that level. And now, they are just “getting by,” wondering how they’ll fund the next growth step in their business, and whether that will pay for the next wedding or college education. Some wonder if they’ll still have a job next year, as companies like Bank of America cut thousands of jobs.
