The "Balance of Power" in the Government myth is right up there with the "transparency" of the current administration.

My point is... People praise the Clinton Administration for a surplus.
Do they realize it was with the help of a Republican Congress? After all, does the White House do all the budgeting, or is it Congress?
Our politicians better get their act together or the next time US troops deploy it may very well be on our own soil.
The people need to get their act together and realize that the Federal Government is OUT OF CONTROL.
Vote person, not party!

>Vote person, not party!< You know with all the slander or lies told on each person today, you don't know who will be the best person for anything. Just once I would like to her a positive comment on someone. Hey I don't know just thinking here,

Wouldn't it be nice if we could talk to the neighbor's of the candidates, to get a different perspective? Or what about developing a checklist or questionnaire that EVERY candidate completes upon registering to run. Then publish all the questionnaires in the paper, 1 or 2 months prior to the election. Of course, the questionnaire should not be tailored to differ positions, because the purpose would be to reveal the core beliefs and platforms. Candidates can use their advertising dollars to point out pitfalls of opponents, but that's something I can choose not to listen to.
I believe that if a candidate shares the core beliefs that I do and they are earnest about doing a good job for the people, not what they can get out of it, that alone may head our country in a better direction. This idea may not be the perfect solution, but I think there are great people among us that could do right by the people, they just don't have the money that prepaid politcal teams have to support their candidates. I for one would like to see a hord or "Joe the Plumber's" in Washington.
