In a supposedly Christian Nation, why is Islam a more protected religion than Christianty? Why are there people campaigning to have daily prayer vigils for the Islam religion citing the RIGHT of religious freedom, yet we can't pray or even mention Christianity in schools without some type of public retribution?

Sweep Perhaps the Christians just rolled over without putting up a fight. It will be interesting to see how the almighty politicians will deal with Islamic DEMANDS. So why would Muslims want to live in a nation that their own religion refers to as the Great Satan, The Land of the Infidels, etc... I'm just asking? ;D Sweep

Wonder why the Muslims want to live here? Read their history. It's all about conquest and domination. That's what the Crusaders and Knights Templar were fighting against centuries ago. The Europeans finally threw them out and THAT is what we will eventually have to do. Don't buy the idea that Islam is a religion of peace. That is NOT they way the book reads. Get a copy of the Koran and skim through it. You will be amazed!! Read the ACTUAL history of Mohammed. A real sterling character, that one. Read what he did to his wife and family. Again, you will be amazed. Me, I am proud to be an infadel. Even have the T-shirt saying so.

I agree with you Sweeper, in that the Christians have "rolled over without putting up a fight" out of complacency. It's like anything, if you don't stay involved you'll lose ur edge.

Are Muslims allowed to pray in public schools? I'm just asking. Yes, and so are Christians. Any individual can openly pray as an individual anywhere they please. It's only an issue if the school or one of it's employees makes an effort to include prayer for the whole class or student body. I really don't see why this is so hard for anyone to understand.

No one said it was hard to understand. It's just hard to accept how we got to this point. Taking credit is easier than taking blame.

We got to this point because some people simply want their children to be taught math, science, history, literature, language, music, etc. in school. Not everyone believes that religion is beneficial. I'm sure some people would find it disturbing if class was stopped each day for a Muslim prayer, or a Voodoo ritual. What about time at a football game to practice witchcraft for the team? Ridiculous, right? Well, some of us just include one more religion to the list of ones we don't care to participate in. I wouldn't want my kids being confused by what I consider to be nonsense. Teach them the facts and only the facts. No speculation please.

IE: Big Bang, Evolution, etc...if those were factual they wouldn't call them theories. The teachers are also busy teaching other things that also should be taught elsewhere as well, such as mutual respect, manners, etc... I remember being in school and learning about many different world religions. I didn't cry FOUL, I didn't WHINE.....no I showed tolerance. Something the atheists preach but obviously don't practice. You said earlier atheists were the "unorganized-minority" so who is this "we" and "us" you keep referring to in your posts?

They teach speculation all the time. They call them theories. IE: Big Bang, Evolution, etc...if those were factual they wouldn't call them theories. Proof positive that you should read more books beside the bible. You clearly have no understanding of the word THEORY. The THEORY of gravity isn't just a suggestion it's a law. Neither is the theory of evolution. Just because something is a theory, doesn't mean it hasn't been proven to be fact. I have no problem with discussion of religion as myth or cultural distinction, but any mention of religious doctrine such as creationism as fact is injurious to real academic progress. WE also can stand for the human race. That doesn't mean, however, that WE meet up for Sunday brunch and discuss what WE will do next week for leisure activities. WE are by our very nature, an unorganized group of like minded individuals who share similar enough distinction from them, or you, to be considered WE.
