Despite Tough Talk, Hillary to Party With Obama in Martha’s Vineyard
Even on vacation, President Obama can't escape the critics of his foreign policy.
But this time, the critic is his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The two will attend a Martha's Vineyard party for Ann Jordan, the wife of former Bill Clinton adviser Vernon Jordan.
Clinton has been a staunch defender of the president since stepping down as secretary of state last year, but as she considers a presidential run in 2016, she recently began creating some distance from Mr. Obama's foreign policy. In an interview with The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg published Sunday, she critiqued the principle that has guided his actions abroad.
"Great nations need organizing principles, and 'Don't do stupid stuff' is not an organizing principle. It may be a necessary brake on the actions you might take in order to promote a vision," Clinton said in the interview.
She went on to praise the president as "thoughtful," "incredibly smart" and "able to analyze a lot of different factors that are all moving at the same time" but also said his foreign policy was "cautious."

Still, the White House - at least publicly - has indicated there are no hard feelings.

Anyone who would even THINK about voting for Hillary Clinton must be desperate for a female, radical of the Woodstock generation. She wrote her college thesis on communist and Chicago Community Organizer/Agitator, Saul Alinsky. Unbelievable that Americans are so desperate for someone to vote for not even caring about their radical background.

Podesta served as Bill Clinton’s last White House Chief of Staff and joined the Obama administration as counselor in late 2013. Podesta also founded the Center for American Progress and has been credited with helping Obama make the most out of his second term, especially advocating for the aggressive use of executive actions to advance the president’s agenda in the face of a recalcitrant Congress.

This week, America learned two amazing things. The first is that Hillary Clinton—former secretary of state, likely presidential hopeful, and the hardest-working poor little rich lady in D.C. showbiz—apparently cooked up a bizarre “home-brewed” private e-mail server that she used to conduct all of her official, top-secret government business for the State Department. This, of course, was weird. It was also quite possibly illegal.
The second is that America, at least according to two prominent left-wing journalists, might be toast. Writer Matthew Yglesias devoted thousands of words to the topic this week at Vox.com, with the following prediction: “American Democracy Is Doomed.” New York magazine’s Jonathan Chait, apparently a more hopeful yet cautious sort, responded with his own think piece: “There’s a Chance American Democracy Is Not Doomed.” Chait’s article, by the way, features movie stills of aliens blowing up the White House. It also includes the helpful caveat that if America is doomed, it will almost certainly be the fault of the “unique power” of our country’s “right wing.”
Well. Let’s start with the political apocalypse, since that’s the most exciting. “America’s constitutional democracy is going to collapse,” Yglesias wrote. (Here, it helps to imagine a Very Serious Face.) “Some day—not tomorrow, not next year, but probably sometime before runaway climate change forces us to seek a new life in outer-space colonies—there is going to be a collapse of the legal and political order. … Very few people agree with me about this, of course. When I say it, people generally think that I’m kidding.” Chait, for his part, pulled for optimism: “The point,” he wrote, “is simply that we don’t know that the American system cannot survive.”

Americans getting taste of what a second Clinton presidency would look like

With Americans' attention diverted perhaps to the big and controversial visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week, two news bombshells dropped on Hillary Clinton's presidential aspirations. They provide not just a reminder of the Clinton era — a time when government accountability vanished from the earth and excuses abounded for even the most flagrant illegalities — but also an early taste of what a second Clinton administration would be like.
The first story was a follow-up on the Washington Post's earlier report that the Clintons' family foundation received millions in donations from foreign governments while Clinton was serving as Secretary of State. This implies obvious conflicts between her personal and official obligations — how does Clinton respond to a 3 a.m. phone call from a foreign government that is also feeding her family foundation?

Something to hide

There’s a new chapter in the familiar Clinton dodge, this one written by Hillary. On Monday The New York Times reported that Mrs. Clinton stubbornly refused to use a government email account during her tenure as secretary of state, choosing instead a private account to better hide her emails. This likely violates the U.S. Records Act, and we’ve seen this kind of Clinton subterfuge before.
The Associated Press reports that Mrs. Clinton’s private email server is registered to one Eric Hoteham, a name connected to presidentclinton.com and wjcoffice.com, an address no longer in use. Bill Clinton (aka wjc) used this address when he was in the White House. Fast forward 14 years, over to Benghazi and through the woods, and the email address for Mr. Hoteham is traced to the Clinton residence in Chappaqua, New York.
